What is a Mobile Network Video Recorder (MNVR)?

Published
June 1, 2024

A Mobile Network Video Recorder (MNVR) is a specialized device designed to record and manage video footage captured from security cameras installed in mobile environments such as buses, trains, police vehicles, or other forms of transportation.

The key differentiator between a regular NVR and a mobile NVR is the certifications that are required for the use in mobile environments.

The applicable norms depend on the environment. For application in trains for example, NVRs typically need to be EN50155 certified. Whereas in busses, E-Mark certification is typically required.
