What is Dewarping?

Published
June 1, 2024

Dewarping is a function which processes an image from a fisheye camera and produces a new image without distortion similar to the image of a regular camera.

Typically one fisheye stream can be dewarped resulting in two (double panorama), three (triple-view) or four (quad-view) streams.

Depending on the type of fisheye camera the dewarping takes place directly on-camera or within the VMS or video analytics software.
