Edge AI is a concept of deploying AI functionalities to local edge devices. Opposed to run AI workloads centrally in the cloud, a decentralized edge computing approach to AI enables lower latencies and reduces bandwidth usage. Edge computing and cloud computing can be combined by processing AI workloads locally on edge devices and storing the resulting metadata centrally in the cloud.
